GAIA Cosmo Hotel Distributes Protective Coveralls to Medical Personnel at Local Medical Centers

The COVID-19 pandemic is currently sweeping across the world, including in Indonesia. The medical staff and health workers continue to fight this pandemic relentlessly.  As a form of concern and appreciation, GAIA Cosmo Hotel provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to several medical centers in Yogyakarta to aid in the safety and protection of the medical personnel.

On Monday, 18th May 2020, GAIA Cosmo Hotel provided PPE assistance to 2 referral hospitals and puskesmas (small-scale public health centers) in Yogyakarta, namely Bethesda Hospital, Panti Rini Hospital, and Kotagede Health Center. The PPE were given directly by the General Manager of GAIA Cosmo Hotel, Ivan Andries, to representatives from every location. Ivan Andries said, “The hospitality industry is one of the many industries affected by COVID-19, we are committed to doing our best in supporting and helping the communities around us.” Through this initiative, GAIA Cosmo also helped the local garment SMEs, which produced the PPE.

This donation is a form of appreciation, care and support of the hotel for medical staff who have performed a noble task in handling the COVID-19 pandemic. It is hoped that the PPE donation can be beneficial and encouraging for health workers in treating current COVID-19 patients.

Pandemi COVID-19 saat ini sedang melanda seluruh dunia, tidak terkecuali di Indonesia. Para tenaga medis dan tenaga kesehatan tak henti berjuang melawan pandemi ini. Hal ini yang menjadi alasan bagi GAIA Cosmo Hotel untuk memberikan bantuan APD sebagai bentuk kepedulian terhadap tenaga medis karena pemenuhan APD menjadi kebutuhan vital agar seluruh tenaga medis dapat bekerja dengan aman dan tenang.

Pada Senin 18 Mei 2020, GAIA Cosmo Hotel memberikan bantuan APD ke 2 rumah sakit rujukan dan puskesmas di Yogyakarta, yakni RS Bethesda, RS Panti Rini, dan Puskesmas Kotagede 1. APD diberikan langsung oleh General Manager GAIA Cosmo Hotel, Ivan Andries, kepada perwakilan dari setiap rumah sakit. Ivan Andries mengatakan, “Industri perhotelan merupakan salah satu dari sekian banyak industri yang terkena dampak COVID-19, kami berkomitmen untuk melakukan yang terbaik dalam mendukung dan membantu masyarakat di sekitar kami.” Melalui bantuan ini, GAIA Cosmo juga turut membantu usaha mikro kecil menengah (UMKM) garmen yang pada saat ini beralih memproduksi APD.

Donasi ini sebagai bentuk apresiasi, kepedulian, dan dukungan hotel terhadap para tenaga medis yang telah melakukan tugas mulia dalam penanganan pandemi COVID-19. Diharapkan, donasi APD tersebut dapat bermanfaat dan memberikan semangat kepada para petugas kesehatan dalam merawat pasien COVID-19 saat ini.
